2009 Davie Summer Lacrosse League (DSLL)
Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays, June 2009 Location: TBD, Davie Divisions: - Boys Youth entering 3rd through 6th grades - Boys Middle entering 7th-9th grades - Boys Senior 10th grade on up Days/times: Mon & Wed eves 6:30pm - 8:30pm Includes: 10 game season Registration dates: To come Goalies: Registration is free for goalies Requirements: Must be a registered US Lacrosse member (can renew or register on our site) Experience: Some stick skills recommended but not required Format: Varies by age group. Boys youth- 2 attack, 3 middies, 2 defense, goalie playing on short field. Boys Senior - depends on the # of players Team size: 12-15 players per team, 2 teams will be formed in each division Cost: $100 (may change)
This is a no body checking league. The focus is on stick skills, team work and finesse.
WE NEED COACHES FOR THE YOUTH AND MIDDLE DIVISIONS. PLEASE CONTACT SHAUN BAMFORTH IF YOU ARE WILLING TO COACH A TEAM. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
League Details: - Players will receive a tank top (game jersey) and a souvenir DSLL t-shirt - All games will start promptly at the scheduled start time. - Youth/Middle division will have volunteer coaches. Please email if you are willing to coach. Moms and dads welcome. High School Plus division will be self-coached, generally by the most experienced player. - Notification of cancellations for weather or other reasons will be done via a text messaging service. - Penalties will be handled with the awarding of a fast break to the offended team - Game time is 20 running quarters w/ 4 minute quarter breaks and 8 minute halftime break - Rosters will be approximately 12-15 players per team - Teams will be divided as equally as possible - We will attempt to accommodate same team requests but give no guarantee - Fighting will not be tolerated and will result in the player or players being expelled from the league with no refund. - The rules can be modified or changed at any time without notice. All rule changes will come only from the league organizers. Any questions regarding the rules should be directed toward the organizers. - Parents and players are responsible for providing their own protective equipment. - Player must certify that their equipment meets US Lacrosse guidelines for safety. - Rained out games will be made up on the Wednesday of the same week. - Players are responsible for providing their own water.
