WANT TO COACH IN DAVIE?  HERE IS THE REGISTRATION LINK FOR COACHES

Davie Youth Lacrosse Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization created to promote the development of a youth lacrosse program in the Town of Davie, Florida.

Become a FAN on

The American Indians invented it, the Canadians made it their National Sport, and the youth of America have made it the fastest growing youth sport in the nation.  Nicknamed The Fastest Sport on Two Feet, lacrosse has infectiously made its way from the hot beds of New York and Maryland to all parts of the United States and many parts of the world.  Top-level college programs are fielding players from Ohio, Texas, Colorado, California, and even Florida.

The charge has been led by the private schools in the area, such as 16-time State Champion St. Andrews School in Boca Raton and perennial powers Gulliver Prep and Pine Crest.  Other high school programs have been popping up prolifically throughout the state.  The demand has driven the Florida High School Athletic Association to officially “sanction” the sport of lacrosse and Broward, Dade, Palm Beach and Martin Counties are all on board.  Varsity programs now exist in many of Florida’s high schools including local high schools such as St. Thomas, Archbishop McCarthy, South Plantation, American Heritage, Western, Cypress Bay, Pines Charter,  West Broward and Cooper City.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

The program is organized and run by the Davie Youth Lacrosse Foundation, Inc., a 501.c.3 charitable organization.  Davie Youth Lacrosse is a "travel" recreation program with focus on giving players of all skill levels a quality learning experience and lots of fun playing lacrosse.  The players will be taught  improved agility, conditioning, team work and respect for the game and other players as well as the finer points of playing lacrosse.   Our 2012 season will run from late January to the end of April.  We will field both boys and girls teams, Kindergarten through 8th grade.  Practices are 2 nights per week with games on Saturdays.

Davie Lacrosse Training Academy

See our online video training sessions available on our How To Play page.  Be sure to choose your skill level on top Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.  These are great video shorts that can teach you fundamentals and finer points of the game.

Team Sponsorship Challenge is now over!

The Davie Youth Lacrosse Team Sponsorship Challenge is back!  We challenge each and every team to raise a total of $900 in Sponsor contributions/donations. Bantam goal is $750 as they have less players.  It takes only four Player Level sponsorships of $250 for everyone on your team to receive the very cool Dry-fit Shooter Shirts (only three sponsorships for Bantams!).   We have a great product...the fastest growing youth sport in America. Ask your favorite restaurants, dry cleaners, dentists, vets, etc... to support your team. We are a 501(c)3 charitable organization. All donations are tax deductible. No donation is too small. Team Sponsorship Challenge starts today and will run thru Friday, March 18th.
Last season, nine of our twelve teams met the challenge. We are hoping that every team is wearing shooter shirts this season!  We appreciate all of the positive feedback that we have received. Please help us continue to provide a quality program for your children.

Florida Lacrosse Classic

January 20-22, 2012

The Florida Youth Lacrosse Foundation holds the Eleventh Annual Florida Lacrosse Classic on January 20-22, 2012.  This is the main fund raising event for the Florida Youth Lacrosse Foundation.  Twenty five Grand Masters teams (45 and over) will compete for the National Championship title.  Fifteen Half-Century teams (50 and over) will compete as well over the 3 days.  The teams are made up of the premier players from their time.  The legs are not as spry but the games are still exciting.  The local favorite FROGs (Florida Real Old Guys) won the Brine Division in 2009.  This event is used to help fund startup youth lacrosse programs in Florida.  We seek youth and adult volunteers for score and time keeping, ball boys/girls, etc.  Please consider giving the gift of your time to the organization that has helped fund Davie Lacrosse.  www.floridalaxclassic.com
